Fernando Bruno
Joining the NIH Center for Translation Research and Implementation Science, Fernando Bruno (2021-23 fellow at NIH) supports a diverse portfolio focused on global health inequities and implementation research in health settings. He says AAAS STPF "helped sharpen my skills toward my role in global health and further fueled my passion to make a positive and impactful change in the field improving health worldwide.” He also serves as Program Director for the Global Alliance of Chronic Diseases.
Dominique Carter
Starting this spring as a Principal for Lewis-Burke & Associates, Dominique Carter (2017-19 fellow at NSF) was selected for the Aspen Food Leaders Fellowship 2023, which unites emerging food leaders to promote cross-sector collaboration and create scalable change. “The AAAS Science & Technology Policy Fellowship[s] changed the trajectory of my career in the best possible way," she says. "It provided the foundation necessary to serve as a policy architect for several landmark initiatives during the Biden-Harris Administration.”
Raul Brens, Jr.
As Acting Sr. Director and Senior Fellow at the Atlantic Council GeoTech Center, Raul Brens, Jr. (2019-21 fellow at Dept. of State) steers the center’s focus on emerging tech and champions efforts in climate intervention strategies. “[STPF] was pivotal in enabling me to directly engage in high-level policy analysis and diplomatic efforts, enhancing my capacity to navigate complex international science and technology landscapes and solidifying my leadership in global science policy," says Raul.
