Please join us for the third webinar of the alumni-exclusive “Bridges to Action” series: Science in the Courts. This webinar will feature the AAAS Center for Scientific Responsibility and Justice (SRJ) and the National Courts and Sciences Institute (NCSI).
SRJ is a AAAS program that works to connect scientists and scientific information directly with reporters to encourage the production of evidence-based news. NCSI enhances the capacity of courts to resolve complex cases involving emerging scientific and technical evidence through specialized educational programs. Together, both programs will showcase the important role of science in a court of law.
Scientific evidence and expert testimony play a crucial part in providing factual information. Equally important is fostering collaboration between scientists and judges to ensure the courts have capacity to resolve complex and technical cases. Join Theresa Harris, Director of the AAAS Center for Scientific Responsibility and Justice, and the Honorable John Leventhal, retired Associate Justice of the State Supreme Court of New York, Appellate Division.
